ABOUT US
We believe every church has a role to play within the greater body of Christ. We’re not all feet or hands (1 Corinthians 12), and all churches should not look the same. Revive is called to be a place where we extend uncomfortable grace and teach all of God’s Word, even the really awkward parts. We have 10 statements of faith that are non-negotiable for us. We believe these are foundational for understanding the Bible.
What We Believe
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s Word, from His mouth to man, through His Spirit without error. It is God’s love letter to us and is used to encourage and guide our lives.
THE TRINITY
We believe there is one true God and that He exists in three persons: the divine example of true community. These three are equal but carry out different roles in the work of creating, providing, and redeeming.
GOD THE FATHER
We believe God is an infinite personal spirit, perfect in all things. He so desires to connect with us in a personal way that He sent His Son to reconcile the relationship between God and man.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus is God’s only son. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to a virgin. He lived a perfect life, without any sins. We believe He died in our place, to pay for our sins, that He came back to life in bodily form, and that He ascended into heaven.
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit comes from the Father and Son to make us aware of our sin, to convict, guide, comfort, and lead us as a church and as individuals. He lives in all of us who truly believe in Jesus.
THE CHURCH
We believe that “the church” is one universal body of believers encompassing all those who believe in Jesus. We are to gather regularly with other members of the church. This can happen in concerts, life groups, and other places where God’s kids gather together.
THE RITUALS
Jesus modeled two things: baptism, which is symbolic of His death and resurrection, and communion, which symbolizes His blood and body, which were sacrificed for us.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
We believe every person can have a direct, personal relationship with God. No human mediator is required for God to hear our prayers, forgive our sins, or direct our lives.
SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION
We believe all people are sinners by nature and choice and, because of that, are spiritually far from God. We believe those who repent of their sins, connect with God, and make Jesus the leader in their lives are made new by the Holy Spirit. The evidenct of this transformation is shown by the change in our lives.
ETERNAL LIFE
We believe Christ will personally and visibly return to Earth and establish His kingdom. We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell, that all who have died will be resurrected in bodily form, and that there will be a judgement. We believe, according to the Bible, that the righteous will spend eternity with God and the wicked will spend eternity separated from God.
Our Discipleship Values
We have 5 discipleship values that we want every believer, both new and seasoned, to understand well if they call Revive home. The discipleship experience we run twice a year is based on these five things and our kids classrooms reflect them as well. If every believer implemented these 5 practices the gates of Hell would not stand a chance!
Our Values
1. Feed Yourself Spiritually – If you found yourself in an unfamiliar land with no church to attend, would you know how to read the Bible, pray, and (most importantly) hear from God? Everything else we teach builds on this!
2. Walk In Real Community – Almost half of the Bible is discussing our relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is not good for us to be alone! God wants us to live in genuine, vulnerable relationships!
3. Live A Life Of Generosity – So often, we limit a life of generosity to giving money or our time. That is part of it, but we can also be generous with our attention, our reputations, and our comfort. Generosity is a lifestyle, and we can’t out do what God has given for us.
4. Serve The Kingdom Faithfully – We all have gifts that can be leveraged for the kingdom of God. We want to focus on your God-given gift, however they show up. Whatever they are, we want to help you discover them and find a space to serve the kingdom. Revive is called to be a battleship (everyone has a job), not a cruise ship!
5. Share Your Faith Openly – What if we all talked about our faith with the same excitement as we had sharing about the latest netflix show or last night’s big game. We want to instill the conviction and confidence to talk about Jesus openly. “Let me tell you about what I read in the Bible last night!”
Join Us For Open House
We have an open house after church about once a quarter. Food is provided, and it’s a chance to hear all about the various ministries at Revive.
